Religion

I grew up in a religious place with religious people

Who tested my faith to the fullest.

If I didn’t believe as they did, I was a sinner.

Come to find out, I am a sinner.

But don’t test my faith

For I have seen what I needed to believe in what I believe

Because the sun rises everyday after every dark night

And lovers make up even after the worst of fights

Miracles happen to those who believe

And dreams come true for dreamers like me.

…Yes I believe in something greater than us…

Because we are not so great…

Do not test my faith

Because I believe in something that cannot scientifically exist

Yet I believe to exist anyway

And if that’s a crime, curse me,

‘cause I’m a sinner anyway

While I’m up here preaching let me take this chance to say:

Fuck the the catholics, the mormons, and the jews,

Fuck the babtist, the protastants, the christians and fuck all of you

Because my God wouldn’t be down with your church

And if Jesus saw this he would avoid his second birth.

I’m not talking about religion

I’m talking about us

I’m talking about life

I’m talking about love.

I’m talking about the feeling of getting up in the morning with nothing to do

I’m talking about believing in me and believing in you

I’m talking about each day as a gift

And my God is simply who gave us all of it.
