Time Doesn't Wait For Me

The wonders of life fell through my shower
Like rain falling
From my eyes, glistening silver
Like bullets, piercing my throat.
It's all over now.
Time didn't take the time to wait
For me to hope on board with the train of dreamers
And I was only five minutes late.
The wheels have been turning longer than I've been standing here
Waiting, or was the train waiting on me
But I never came?
Either way it's gone, and I would be too had I continued to believe
In something greater.
But time doesn't stop for me, the way it should have.
This doesn't belong, I'm too old, too rusty, too bland
I had my chance, I've lost it, gone, never to be had
Why can't I go back? I want to revisit the station before the train leaves.
But I can't.
Time doesn't wait for me.
